Rich Applications Consulting (RAC) seeks a full-time interactive designer with the ambition to be more than just a cog in a giant machine. This is not just an ordinary internship and we are not an ordinary company. We hate the mundane and we avoid the boring, normal, and easy because we aim to be at the forefront of Web 2.0 development.
The ideal designer is an avid learner who is excited about graphic design, user experience, and user interface development and wants significant growth potential in their career. This person must be ready for a job that is hands-on, demanding, and deadline-focused, but that also fosters entrepreneurship, promises on-the-job training, and provides a work environment that allows team members the freedom to work however is most productive for them.
The interactive designer will work in cross-functional agile development teams with teammates who are developers, quality-assurance specialists, and business analysts. They will be responsible for working through usability design, mockup-generation, and full-scale interactive design.
On the job training, mentorship, and guidance will be a regular benefit of this job, with the designer enjoying regular one-on-one sessions with the team leaders, and regular group working sessions with experienced team members.
Job Qualifications
RAC seeks a designer that is trained in one or more of the following: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, InDesign, PowerPoint, CSS/xHTML. This developer will also ideally have experience designing user interfaces for web applications or client-side software. We prefer a designer that is passionate about usability and experience, but has the breadth and creativity to design anything.
Location: This position is available in the Alexandria, VA office or as a virtual position, allowing the team member to telecommute from anywhere in the world.
