The Center for BioSecurity department of UPMC, in Baltimore, MD is hiring a manager of web, graphic, and print design. The manager is responsible for all design, technical, and production activities to support the websites and print publications. This is the only on-staff source of high-level design, web development, and multimedia production expertise. Responsibilities: Assume primary responsibility/accountability for web design, production, maintenance, and functionality of sites; Serve as senior technical web expert and designer/developer, direct/supervise web development and production, and troubleshoot problems; Coordinate the maintenance of the Center's off-site web servers; manage the integration of the content management system (CMS); Serve as the in-house art director/designer for all print publications, designing, and producing print materials; Maintain and create electronic templates for staff use when creating print materials produced and printed in-house. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in graphic design or related field strongly preferred. Five years of experience as web and print designer and producer; three years of experience managing projects; Strong graphic design and layout skills required; Two years of experience using and managing a web content management system required (i.e., Site Executive CMSA); Expert knowledge of HTML and print processes; Advanced skills in web publishing software (i.e., Adobe Dreamweaver and Fireworks) and print publishing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat Professional); Strong understanding of web analytics and analysis preferred (i.e., Google Analytics); Basic understanding of web server technologies (e.g., Windows and Linux servers); Must be well organized with the ability to balance multiple projects without sacrificing detail and quality; High level of professionalism is required; Must be able to travel locally and domestically as necessary.
