Overview:
Manages major critical eCommerce projects to ensure the delivery of quality products in a timely and cost effective manner. The person will be responsible for overall business strategy and development related to programs on United's websites such as Booking, EasyCheck-In Online, Upgrade, or Promotional Faring. Specific activities include some or all of the following: strategic planning, business analysis, requirements development, functional design, competitive assessment, tracking/reporting, post audits, content creation to support design, and forecasting. The successful candidate is expected to lead the process of making recommendations and setting business requirements for overall functionality, navigation and other enhancements that meet the needs of United's customers and internal United stakeholders. This position is responsible for program delivery and is responsible for communicating the status of projects to corporate management and stakeholders throughout implementation. This individual will manage strategic partnerships, coordinate with technology project managers, external vendors and numerous internal stakeholders.
This person should enjoy a challenging, fast-paced environment with a focus on quality and industry leading innovation. The successful candidate should posses excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, be a self-starter, and be effective at prioritization. Experience with content management applications preferred.
Education:
Bachelors degree required, MBA or equivalent work experience preferred.
Experience:
5+ years business experience.
Strong e-commerce and/or travel experience preferred.
Detailed knowledge of airline booking systems a plus.
Skills:
Excellent planning, strategy, analytical, communications, and project management skills.
Strong experience in finance, marketing, e-commerce or strategic planning.
Experience in dealing with multiple and diverse internal stakeholders.
